Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools employee arrested in connection with child pornography investigation
CHOCTAW — A Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools employee has been arrested, accused of downloading and sharing child pornography.
An arrest warrant was issued in Oklahoma County District Court for Forrest N. Freeman III, 49, on complaints of aggravated possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and a computer crimes act violation.
Freeman was a technology department employee for the district for 19 years. He was immediately suspended and has since resigned, according to Superintendent Jim McCharen.
Freeman did not have contact with students, and none of the accusations occurred on school property, McCharen said.
Freeman is accused of downloading a sexually explicit video involving young girls through a file-sharing network. A number of files were downloaded by officers from the same computer address, according to the warrant.
Freeman's internet provider identified him after being served with a court order, the warrants states.
A search warrant was served at his Choctaw home on Friday. Freeman refused to provide passwords, but a forensic search of the computer revealed more than 300 images and videos of girls between the ages of 2 and 12 years old, according to the warrant.
When attempting to locate Freeman that evening, family members told police that other family members were hiding him so he didn't have to spend the weekend in the Oklahoma County jail.
Freeman is the son of Oklahoma County Treasurer Forrest "Butch" Freeman.
"I ask all to respect our family’s privacy," Forrest "Butch" Freeman wrote in a statement. "My first priority is for my son and his family, whom I dearly love. I ask for your prayers for all concerned. As this is a legal matter involving my son and not me, it would be inappropriate for me to make any further comment."
Freeman surrendered at the Oklahoma County jail on Monday night and was released on $50,000 bail, jailers said.
