Bank robbery suspect arrested in northwest Oklahoma City
A suspected bank robber was arrested Wednesday afternoon after crashing a pickup, police said.
About 12:35 p.m., a white man wearing a black jacket and carrying a black bag robbed the bank, 2101 W Memorial Road, Capt. Paco Balderrama said.
Officers were told the robber might be in an older model Blue Dodge Ram pickup and were given a possible tag. A police helicopter checked the address the tag was registered to, near the 11100 block of Quail Creek Road, and saw a pickup that matched the description, officer Megan Morgan said.. The driver of the pickup fled the area south on May Avenue, and crashed into several unoccupied vehicles at Sun & Ski Sports, 10109 N May Ave, she said.
The driver, who is thought to have robbed the bank, was taken to a local hospital. His condition was not immediately available, Morgan said.
