Oklahoma man found unconscious in Carter County jail cell dies at an Ardmore hospital
ARDMORE — A man was found unconscious in his jail cell a day after being arrested in connection with a fatal shooting.
Everett A. Park, 20, was found in a Carter County cell just before noon Wednesday. Park was alone in his cell when he was found and died at a local hospital, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Park was arrested about 10 a.m. Tuesday on a first-degree murder warrant, Ardmore police Capt. Eric Hamblin said.
He was a suspect in the June 5 shooting death of Stormy Lusk, 20. Lusk's body was found by her roommate with a gunshot wound to the head at their home in southeast Ardmore, Hamblin said.
Park and Lusk had been friends since childhood. Park declined to speak to investigators after his arrest, Hamblin said, and no motive for the shooting had been determined.
Park had not been charged at the time of his death. The state medical examiner's office will determine cause of death.
