Oklahoma City police shoot 18-year-old man fleeing traffic stop
One man was shot by Oklahoma City police Sunday night, and two more were arrested after they jumped out of a car while it was still moving, police said.
The 18-year-old who was shot — who was also the driver of the car — was taken to a hospital, police Capt. Dexter Nelson said. His condition was not known late Sunday.
No names were released late Sunday night.
One officer fired his weapon, but the number of fired shots and how times the man was hit was not immediately known, Nelson said.
About 9:40 p.m., gang officers spotted a car traveling recklessly near SW 59 and Pennsylvania Avenue. When officers tried to pull the car over, the car sped away. Three men jumped out of the moving car on S Agnew Avenue, just north of SW 59, Nelson said.
The driver had a gun in his hand when he was running from the car. He was shot when he turned toward the officer with the weapon, Nelson said.
