Former OU coach Barry Switzer clarifies comments on Penn State
Former University of Oklahoma football coach Barry Switzer clarified his comments on Penn State on Friday.
Switzer told The Oklahoman he spoke out of turn when he said, “Everyone on that staff had to have known,” and added that he had no first-hand knowledge of the situation.
He said that knowing what he knows about coaching staffs, he still believes “others” knew what was going on with former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.
Switzer also said Friday he was afraid his comment might have hurt the young assistants on the Penn State staff.
